‘Gone Girl’ Still Shows Good Presence During This Weekend Box Office, ‘Dracula Untold’ In Second

This weekend's box-office result is expected to put Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike's 'Gone Girl' on top, Deadline reported.

The article stated that 'Gone Girl' is estimated to earn over $25 Million during its second week run. The film earned $38 million on its first weekend, outrunning horror flick 'Annabelle' which earned $37.5 Million last week and is estimated to earn another $15 million on its second week.

'Gone Girl"' film is based on the novel of Gillian Flynn, about a man who was suspected of murdering his wife who have gone missing. The film was not only a blockbuster but also a hit among the critics due to the actors' powerful acting performances.

Several reports have predicted the film to be noticed by award bodies like the Oscars.

Annabelle meanwhile is a follow up of the horror film 'The Conjuring.'The movie about the possessed doll is in fourth place this week.

New release, 'Dracula Untold,' starring Luke Evans and a movie about the origins of how he became Dracula is estimated to be on the second spot this week with $20 million ticket sales.

Reports say that the new horror film might have taken cinemagoers from 'Annabelle.' Despite that still the movie is still a success with only $6.5 million cost to produce it.

On Friday,' Dracula Untold' earned $8 million a close second to 'Gone Girl's' Friday gross of $8.1 million.

'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,' is in third spot with predicted gross of $18.5 million.

 The movie is another new release by Disney this week and stars Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner. It is an adaptation of a children book with the same name.

 'The Judge' meanwhile is at no. 5 with earnings estimated at $14.2 million on its first weekend. It stars Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall and on Friday it earned $4.55 million.

 Downey 's presence in the crime drama movie did not pull enough fans unlike his 'Iron Man' series.
