As this year's New York Comic Con, those fans lucky enough to catch the "Sword Art Online" panel got to feast their eyes on the latest trailer for "Sword Art Online" season two, part two. That is to say, the Kirito and Sinon Gun Gale Online arc has ended and now the anime will move to the Kirito and Asuna Calibur arc, based on the light novels by Reki Kawahara.

"Sword Art Online" creator Reki Kawahara spoke to Anime News Network about his inspiration for his strong female characters, namely Asuna.

"There are no existing people that I wrote them on based in the real world. I don't usually make a character, setting, or anything before I start writing. As I write the story, the girls become what they are now. So, somehow, I don't know exactly, but somehow, my subliminal idea or some hidden emotion creates the characters to be strong and capable," he said.

Whatever the case may be, fans who missed their belovedly strong and capable Asuna will get to be back with her in the upcoming second part of "Sword Art Online II. According to Anime News Network, the new trailer revealed on Saturday by Aniplex, will follow Kirito and Asuna in the Calibur arc from the light novels.

Fans not familiar with the light novels upon which the "Sword Art Online" anime is based may have been wondering where the second half of season two would go, since the Gun Gale Online arc came to an end in the latest episode. This trailer answers the question and points toward a revisiting of Kirito and Asuna in the hunt for the legendary Excalibur sword. After this arc, the anime will turn toward Asuna in her confrontation with a secretive avatar named Zekken for a special sword skill.
