Saturday Night Live Ratings: Host Bill Hader Ties With Charlize Theron As Lowest Ever Episode

Over the weekend, "Saturday Night Live" alum Bill Hader hosted, raking in a measly number of ratings that tied with Charlize Theron's episode when she hosted in May as the lowest rating in the history of "Saturday Night Live."

According to Deadline, last Saturday's episode averaged a 3.8 rating in metered-market households and a 1.8 in adults 18-49 in the Local People Meters. That was down a tenth in each category from last week's show hosted by Sarah Silverman and a season low. In fact, Bill Hader's episode tied with Charlize Theron as host on May 10 as the lowest rated "SNL" episode ever in household and 18-49 ratings.

Unfortunately it looks like "Saturday Night Live" has not been able to recover from the the departure of a number of long-time favorite cast members including Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis and Seth Meyers.

Some would think that inviting popular former cast member Hader would improve ratings but somehow they were lower than ever. Similarly, some believed "Girls" star Lena Dunham would attract a huge audience but instead her ratings were quite low when she hosted last season in March.

As we previously reported via Deadline, Lena's gig as "Saturday Night Live" host had ratings drop for "SNL"; the episode "averaged a 4.1 household rating in the metered markets and a 2.1 in adults 18-49 in the markets with Local People Meters. That was down 11% in households and down 19% in 18-49 from last week's show hosted by Jim Parsons. These are SNL's second-lowest results of the season in both households and 18-49," Deadline reports.
