Penelope Cruz News: Actress Dubbed As Esquire's 'Sexiest Woman Alive 2014'; Says She Used To Be Attracted To Drama

Despite not being in the limelight and keeping her personal life very private, still Penelope Cruz is crowned Esquire magazine's sexiest woman alive this year, 2014. Her marriage in 2010 with Spanish actor Javier Bardem made her keep focused on motherhood with kids, Luna and Leo. However, the 40-year old actress admitted to like drama when she was younger.

As quoted by the New York Times, the Latina actress said in the Esquire October issue: "I've played a lot of tricks on myself. I've made it hard for me sometimes, especially in my teens and 20s. I had an attraction to drama. Most of us have that, especially if you are an artist -- you feel like you are tempted to explore the darkness."

Cruz remembers being very fascinated with movies made by her mentor-director Pedro Almodóvar.  Her fascination with his movies made her lie about her age whenever she went inside a movie house to watch his films. In working with Almodovar's five movies, Cruz said she she has made a lot of exploration on the dark side of a character.

But when allowed to talk about her recent life, the actress said, "I could not be less interested now. For me, the most attractive, charming, cool, fun, interesting thing -- how could I call it? A plan."

As a mother of Leo, 3 and baby Luna, the Vanilla Sky star is devoting most of her time to her family and would rather keep updates away from the limelight.

"That is for us," the Pirates of the Caribbean star plainly said.

One of the very rarest instances that Cruz and husband Javier have been included in the headlines is their participation on the issue about Israel's unjust bombing in Gaza.

"My only wish and intention in signing that group letter is the hope that there will be peace."

Despite being dubbed as the sexiest woman alive, the Spanish actress humbly said that she doesn't feel sexy at all and because of tasks of being a mom, she needs more relaxation and sleep.
