What should we look forward to for tonight's premiere episode and the rest of this first season? Warning: spoilers ahead!

Critics are already raving about the brand new scripted series on the CW, starring Gina Rodriguez! The Charlotte Observer chooses "Jane The Virgin" as its top pick for Monday night TV. Why? "This charming new drama tells the story of Jane (Gina Rodriguez), a smart and ambitious (and virginal) young woman who is in love with a great guy. Then a routine visit to the gynecologist ends in an accidental insemination and we find ourselves in a full-blown telenovela. The show has a great cast, including Justin Baldoni, Brett Dier and Andrea Navedo, but Rodriquez provides the magic."

What else have "Jane The Virgin" reviews revealed?

The News Observer explains, "Jane Villanueva is good girl, a role she's adopted in opposition to her sexy mom Xiomara (who had Jane when she was a teen) and with the full support of her devout grandmother Alba, who has hooked 23-year-old Jane on the idea of saving herself for marriage. Things are going well; Jane has her life planned out and is in love with handsome detective Michael. Then one day, Jane's visit to the doctor ends in an accidental insemination with the sperm of her boss Rafael, a cancer survivor in a troubled marriage with scheming Petra. Yeah, it's a lot and in a fast-moving hour, you're pulled into a world that's funny and sweet and, because of the grounded performances and delightful characters, is somehow believable and always heartfelt. Like any good telenovela, there are enough hints of more secrets to come to keep you watching. Count me in: I love, love, love this show."

Care for some more spoilers?

According to USA Today, "Based on a telenovela, the hour-long comedy is a satire of the genre, a homage, and a card-carrying member all at once. More importantly, particularly for those who have longed to see American TV better reflect America, the show is trying to use telenovelas to tell us something about the Latino-Americans who embrace them. Jane (Rodriguez), you see, grew up watching these Spanish-language soap operas with her single mother (Andrea Navedo), who had Jane as a teenager, and her very old-world grandmother (Ivonne Coll - who, in a realistic twist, mostly speaks Spanish). Partly in response to her grandmother's faith, and partly as a reaction to her mother's life, Jane has vowed not to have sex before marriage, a promise her detective boyfriend (Brett Dier) regrets but accepts. Little does the studious, hard-working Jane know that her life is about to become a telenovela. Thanks to a mix-up at her gynecologist's office, Jane is artificially inseminated and becomes pregnant. What's worse, the father is her boss and summer crush (Justin Baldoni) - and thanks to a bout with cancer, this baby is the only one he can father. And we're off, as the opening hour speeds through enough twists and complications to feed a season's worth of episodes on some shows. Almost everyone has a secret - a lover, a target, an ulterior motive, a not-so-missing relative - and no one knows (or could keep track of) them all. It's old-school soap stuff to be sure, but at its frequent best, uses old twists in new ways. There's a sweetness to the show's approach, particularly in its portrayal of Jane, her mother and her grandmother - a recognition that people are sometimes both more and less than they seem. It's easy to surprise viewers by twisting characters beyond real-world recognition. To do so by making them seem more human, as Jane does - that's a lot tougher. Good for Jane, good for CW - and good for us."
