iPad Air 2 Release Date: Release of the new generation of Apple tablets are expected to be out this week on Apple's last event for the year. 

They are set to release two kinds of tablets for their event on October 16. Rumors state that a Retina display iPad Mini is on its way and of course, the iPad Air 2.

According to some sources, the new tablet could follow the same design and material used and seen on the newly released iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Leaked photos also reveal a Touch ID feature and of course, all other specs and features seen on the iPhone 6, like the Apple Pay. 

Other speculations made about the iPad Air 2 includes having a gold option, just like the iPhones, a 12.9 inch screen from its 9.7 screen; a A8X processor, which is expected to boost the efficiency of the tablet, while the iPad Mini with retina rumored to have the A8; a 2GB RAM and more.

Furthermore, other than the new tablet releases this coming Thursday, Apple is also expected to showcase the new Smart Covers for the new generation of slates.
