Nokia Lumia 830 Lookalike W/ Dual SIM & QHD Screen Spotted At FCC Filing; Possible Specs Of Handset Incl. 5-inch Display, 220 PPI Pixel Density

A Nokia Lumia 830 lookalike was spotted at an FCC filing and the device sports Dual SIM capabilities and a QHD screen. According to Phone Arena, the handset showed up at AdDuplex’s logs in China and Taiwan. The gadget review site noted that AdDuplex is a mobile ad network that helps cross-promote over the Windows Phone platform. The ad network discovered that the Nokia Lumia 830 lookalike has a resolution of 540 x 960 (qHD) and FCC paperwork shows that it’s Dual SIM.

PhoneArena further notes that the dimensions of the device include a 139.9 mm x 71.1 mm frame, which makes it size similar to the Nokia Lumia 830 (thus the lookalike comment). An educated guess from the website suggest that it may have a 5-inch display and 220 PPI pixel density.

Connectivity options for the spotted handset include GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900; HSUPA/WCDMA900 (Band 8) and HSUPA/WCDMA2100 (Band 1) and a new battery model labeled BL-L4A. The documents provided to the FCC comes from Microsoft’s Beijing Office and not its Redmond office, suggesting that it’s final look won’t stray far from its Asian roots.

The Nokia Lumia 830, the handset that we’re referencing for this still unknown device, was made available September 2014 and runs on Windows Phone 8.1. It’s considered the successor of the Nokia Lumia 820 and has a 10MP PureView camera, 5-inch 720P panel, and it’s powered by a quad-core Snapdragon CPU. The device runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with the Lumia Denim update.

Aside from the Nokia Lumia 830, the Nokia X2 has also been released already and made available. The Nokia X2 is an Android-based handset that appeals to the lower-end segment of the market is designed to compete with other budget-friendly Androids like the Moto G and Moto E.

Nokia, now a Microsoft-owned company, will continue to push for the Windows Phone platform in its future devices as noted by the Microsoft CEO. This would mean that future Nokia X devices may start running Windows Phone instead of a customized Android-based OS.
