Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Xiaomi Is Preparing Another Super Affordable Midranger, Rumored Specs Include 5.5" Display, 64-Bit CPU, 3GB RAM

There are a number of high-end upcoming Android phones for 2014, especially after the IFA showcase in Berlin. However, if you think the prices for these new phones are too much for your budget, then here is something you may want to check out.

According to a report by Phone Arena, an alleged leaked image of a new Xiaomi midranger has been making the rounds online. In the report, the phone will be dubbed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, an Android phablet that seeks to be one of the most powerful smartphones in the market today.

The rumored handset is said to boast a huge 5.5-inch display, a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset, 2GB of RAM and some design changes compared to the original Xiaomi Redmi Note.

Other rumored specs of the device include a 13MP primary camera which should be enough for people who value smartphone cameras.

Interestingly, the leaked image and the alleged specs came from an Indian source. It is worth noting that the first Xiaomi Redmi Note has not arrived to the Indian market in spite an announcement months ago.

In previous rumors, the new Xiaomi smartphone is said to be a rival to the recently announced Meizu MX4 which boasts a MT6595 SoC.

In spite the change in chipset, the Redmi Note 2 will still remain as a more popular alternative given that its chipset is manufactured by Qualcomm.

The fact that the device is rumored to be priced at only $244 is also another huge selling point for the device. Most smartphones which pack similar specs to the rumored features of the Redmi Note 2 cost around $400.

Hopefully, it would not take long until the Chinese brand officially unveils the device, including availability and pricing details.
