Oppo N3 Release Date: Rumored Specs Now Include 16MP Shooter, May Swivel As Well

For people who have become a fan of the Oppo manufacturer for its unique N1 handset launched last year, then the Oppo N3 release date will surely provide the same treat.

However, as it is fitting, the new Oppo N3 will reportedly pack a much higher resolution camera, and paired with better sensors for high quality images.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a Weibo post from the Chinese manufacturer confirms that the device will boast 1/2.3" sensors as posted by the company's CEO himself, Tony Chen.

Apparently, bigger sensors will allow for light to pass much easier, resulting in better images both in well-lit and low-lit conditions.

In the post, the Oppo CEO compared the camera sensors of some of the high end smartphones this year to the Oppo N3. Some of these phones include the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy S5, the HTC One M8 and the new Apple iPhone 6.

Among all these handsets, only the One M8 flagship and iPhone 6 sensors are close in dimensions to the ones in the Oppo N3.

In the report, there are also some leaked specs about the device, including the 16MP swivel camera that will reportedly be able to rotate by up to 206 degrees. Other notable specs include a Snapdragon 805 to rival the Galaxy Note 4 and the upcoming Nexus 6 (X or Shamu), a 5.9-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and an ample 3GB of RAM.

Unfortunately, there are still no additional details which could hint availability and pricing.

As more and more high-end smartphones are getting announced as we approach the holiday shopping season, the Chinese manufacturer is running out of time. Aside from the official launch, Oppo should still market its new devices to gain enough traction in the market.
