Taylor Swift Reveals Chris Martin Convinced Her To Do ‘The Voice,’ Says She’s Having ‘The Best Time,’ Mentoring Contestants

It seems a certain Coldplay frontman may be the force behind Taylor Swift's decision to join this season of "The Voice."

Swift recently told E! News that she decided to make her reality TV debut as a mega-mentor on the NBC singing competition because of Chris Martin.

"I'd seen that Chris Martin had done it and Chris is one of my favorite frontman of one of my favorite bands," the "Out of the Woods," singer explained. "So I went and researched what he had done...and when [NBC] reached out to me, I thought you had to watch people and tell them whether they're good or bad and it's not that at all. It's much more interesting and fun and kind of freestyle than that. So I'm having the best time!"

Swift will make her first appearance on "The Voice" on Monday, Oct. 27, the same day as the release of her new album "1989."

Like her predecessor, Martin, she'll be advising all four groups of contestants as they compete for the coveted title.

So now that the "Shake It Off" songstress is hanging around the set of the hit music competition, is she thinking about collaborating with any of the "Voice" judges?

"Pharrell and I were definitely talking about hopping in the studio at some point," dished Swift. "Gwen [Stefani] I would work with in a minute...Blake Shelton and Adam Levine I would do something comedic with. That's more of like a, 'We really need to do something on SNL,' like a skit."

We get the feeling there could be comedic gold in that last idea.

"The Voice" airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
