Chrissy Teigen Refuses To Apologize After Twitter Attacks Her For Comment On Canada Shooting

Chrissy Teigen is not saying sorry.

The Sports Illustrated model is refusing to apologize after tweeting a comment about a recent shooting in Ottawa, Canada.

After Ottawa went on lockdown following a shooting at the Canadian Parliament on Wednesday, which resulted in the death of a member of the armed forces, Teigen took to Twitter to express her feelings about the tragic event.

The model, who is married to singer John Legend, then clarified her statement, revealing that she was not attempting to be humorous with her post.

Many Twitter users the soon attacked Teigen for her comment on the social media page. The 28-year-old addressed the backlash, posting:

She revealed that she would not apologize for her original post because she had been misunderstood for the message.

As the criticism continued, Teigen decided that she would take a break from Twitter, revealing that she would instead bring her social media use to Instagram, a site less likely to offend others.

This is not the first time the model has been met with an uproar after making comments on Twitter.

Discussing her previous social media spats, Teigen once told E! News, "I mean, I'm very much in the heat of the moment and I say things that I'm feeling and then I'm like, 'Why did I do that?'"

At the time, she admitted that she does look back with remorse at times over things she has said in the past.

"I regret things all the time," she told E! "I've never regretted not saying something. I've only regretted saying something."
