Little Big Town Singer Kimberly Schlapman Dishes On ‘Pain Killer,’ Reveals Favorite Song From New Album

Country band Little Big Town is mixing things up with their new album.

"Pain Killer," which was released on Oct. 21, not only shines with catchy pop hits like "Day Drinking" but also serious love songs. Group member Kimberly Schlapman recently discussed the band's sixth studio album and revealed which song is the track list is her favorite.

"It's not what you would think, it's not about a painkiller, like a drug," Schalpman told E! News of the album. "It is about the love of your life killing your pain, and being your pain killer."

The singer explained that "Pain Killer" took her and bandmates Karen Fairchild, Philip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook only a few months to make.

The band's previous albums, "used to take us years!" said Schlapman.

The country crooner also explained why the track "Live Forever" is her favorite song on the album.

"That song is extra special to me because I love the sentiment of it, it's about real good, strong love, and I have that in my husband," she said. "Also, with my little girl, right after we finished writing that song, I started singing it to her at bed time. The first time I sang it, she said, 'Again and again.' Now, she sings it, and she knew every word before we even finished the record."

Schlapman told E! that the band gave friend Blake Shelton an early preview of the album after Little Big Town made a guest appearance on "The Voice."

"We played him our new record, there was a little bit of alcohol, if you know Blake, of course there was!" joked Schlapman.

Schlapman also had nothing but nice words for Shelton, who has been a judge on the NBC singing competition since it first premiered.

The Little Big Town singer says appearing on "The Voice" was "such an incredible experience. Blake's such an incredible coach, he's so encouraging."
