'The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies' Spoilers: Tolkien Awkwardly Deals With Eagles; Peter Jackson's Trilogy Rakes In $745 Million Cost

"The Hobbit" The Battle of the Five Armies" spoilers reveal that the giant Eagles will again swoop to save the day even if director Peter Jackson confessed that they could be very awkward. Meanwhile, the cost of production for the trilogy has already risen to $745 million.

Peter Jackson dished "The Hobbit" The Battle of the Five Armies" spoilers in a report from Associated Press as published by Entertainment Weekly as he said that the Eagles as envisioned by J.R.R. Tolkien have become "a dues ex machina."

"Tolkien uses eagles in a way that can be kind of awkward because they tend to show up out of the blue and change things pretty quickly. So here they're just part of the plan, not the saviors," Jackson said. "I mean, I do realize that if the eagles had just been able to bring Frodo to Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings and let him drop the ring in, those movies would have been much shorter."

The director also teased "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" spoilers particularly on how to deal with the epic battle scene in the film.

"We have a rule that we're not allowed to go more than two or three shots of anonymous people fighting without cutting back to our principal characters otherwise the audience just ends up with battle fatigue,"  explained Peter Jackson.

Meanwhile, the cost of filming for the trilogy through March 2014 has already reached $745 million although the payoff is huge since the global box office sales for the first two films already grossed almost $2 billion.

"The films were made in the never-before-seen frame rate of 48 frames per second and shot in 3D. The cost of production on The Hobbit films is three times as much as Jackson spent on making 'The Lord Of The Rings trilogy,'" the report said.
