JK Rowling Publish New 'Harry Potter' Story About Dolores Umbridge On Pottermore

Raise your butterbeers, Harry Potter fans! J.K. Rowling has a special treat for you Potterheads this coming Halloween! The author announced last Friday, Oct. 24, that she will publish a brand-new story on Pottermore but this time, it's not centered on "The Boy Who Lived" but on one of his biggest foes- the villainous Dolores Umbridge.

According to the Pottermore update:

"Umbridge is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters, she is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry. The new exclusive J.K. Rowling content provides a rich, 1,700-word back story about Umbridge's life filled with many new details, as well as Rowling's revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character."

Umbridge was introduced in the fifth  Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" which was published in 2003, as a new professor at Hogwarts. Umbridge was played by actor Imelda Staunton in the film adaptation of the series.

One of the most memorable scenes of Umbridge was when the professor ordered Harry to use a Blood Quill and scar himself with the phrase, "I must not tell lies".

This is not the first time that Rowling has released a story on Pottermore. Last July, she shared a story about a 33-year-old Harry reuniting with Ron Weasley, Hermione Grainger, Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom for the final of the Quidditch World Cup. Naturally the fandom surrounding "Harry Potter" has not died down one bit that the story attracted so much traffic that Pottermore temporarily crashed.

Aside from writing the screenplay for the movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", Rowling was reportedly "halfway through" writing another novel as reported by The Independent Online. The novel was believed to be a follow up to her 2011 novel "The Casual Vacancy".
