RIP Marcia Strassman: Honey I Shrunk Up The Kids’ Actresss Long Battle With Breast Cancer Led To Her Death At 66

She has appeared in several films in the 70s sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter and 80s Honey I Blew Up The Kid and in the 1994 remake Honey, I Shrunk The Audience. At 66, actress Marcia Strassman has been confirmed dead recently by her sister Julie Strassman who shared the news in Variety on Sunday.  

The actress who is said to have been battling with breast cancer finally led to its final rest on Saturday, October 25.

Showbiz friends, Cher and the director Hollywood director Bob Weide who have heard of her death have expressed their condolences to the beloved actress.

As posted in Cher's social media page, she said, "Wanted U2 No, a Funny, Talented Friend Died. Not 4U 2feel sorry 4me but she died alone, &Energy from U is powerful &Sends [love emoticon] Marsha Strassman."

Strassman is in several movies being the wife of the main actor. She played the role as wife of Gabe Kotter, a teacher who has memorable experiences with a bunch of spoiled teenagers called the Sweathogs which includes the young John Travolta and Vincent 'Vinnie' Barbarino, the Daily Mail said.

In Honey, I Shrunk Up The Kids, she also played as the wife of Rick Moranis. in the 1985, she is with Christopher Reeve and Roseanna Arquette for the film The Aviator.

"She was the funniest, smartest person I ever met. And talented. She knew everything. Now I won't be able to call her and ask her questions," her sister Julie said to the press.

Marcia Strassman is originally from New York but grew up in New Jersey. She has moved to Los Angeles when she was still 18 and started a singing career. Her earliest acting gigs are found in the three episodes of The Patty Duke Show.  

She has also participated in other short-lived TV shows such as Booker, Tremors, Third Watch, Providence, and Noah Knows Best.
