Katherine Heigl Discusses Rumors That She’s Rude! 'State Of Affairs' Star Admits She Has ‘Carelessly Spoken’ And 'Made Mistakes'

Ever since actress Katherine Heigl's last few seasons on "Grey's Anatomy," rumors have spun that she is not the easiest person to work with.

In a recent Facebook Q&A, Heigl addressed a fan who asked what the actress thought about "rumors that you're very rude."

"Yeah I've heard those too....honestly I don't think I am...nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someones feelings and I would never, ever, actively do so on purpose," answered Heigl. "Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right."

The 35-year-old star famously departed ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" a few seasons after declining an Emmy nomination, which she claimed was unearned by the material given to her character that season.

"Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes recently revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that her current line-up of shows on ABC have a "no a-holes" policy. She specifically called out Katherine in the news profile, stating, "There are no Heigls in this situation... I don't put up with bull s-t or nasty people. I don't have time for it."

In Heigl's Facebook Q&A, she continued on the subject of her supposed "rudeness."

"That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to," explained Heigl.

In Heigl's new show "State of Affairs" on NBC, she stars as CIA officer Charlie Tucker, who is called up to be the daily briefer of the president, portrayed by Alfre Woodard.

"There is so much about the story and the character that drew me in! I love that [Charlie] is a strong, intelligent, powerful woman who has these weaknesses and vulnerabilities," explained Heigl on Facebook "I love her patriotism and sense of duty and honor. I love her relationship with the president played by the incredible Miss Alfre Woodard."

"State of Affairs" premieres on Monday, Nov. 17 on NBC.
