Pippa Middleton’s New Job Might Infuriate The Royals; Party Planner Can’t Wait To Step Out Of Sister Kate Middleton’s Shadow?

She might be branded as "Kate Middleton's sister" but the 31-year-old Pippa Middleton is willing to prove that she's so much more than that. The Daily Beast confirmed that the brunette beauty has bagged a correspondent gig on NBC's "Today" show.

According to one insider, NBC News has been eyeing Pippa Middleton because her one-on-one interview with Matt Lauer last June generated high ratings.

""Today" has been doing a test piece with Pippa in Utah, and if it works out well -- and it looks like it will -- they will hire her as a correspondent," read the report.

Speculations have risen that Middleton might be covering news about heath and lifestyle. In 2012, she released her party-planning book entitled "Celebrate." Apart from being an occassional writer for Vanity Fair, she also has a "Mind and Body" column for Waitrose magazine wherein she recently talked about her fitness regimen.

Some are wondering about Pippa Middleton's pay because NBC News is known for "spoiling" its celebrity correspondents. Chealsea Clinton, for example, reportedly made $600,000 in a single year.

However, Pippa Middleton's "Today" gig might infuriate the royals. Following her first American interview, one palace insider told Radar Online that the royals "are furious with Pippa. They wish that she would shut up. It is obvious that she wants to define her identify and step out of her sister's shadow. However, she needs to know her place."

Nonetheless, nothing might stop the younger Middleton from doing what she loves. After interviewing the columnist, Lauer praised her for being humble: "I think she's incredibly grounded. She's blown away by the attention she's gotten over these last two or three years and is not sure what to do with all that attention."
