[MTV Video Music Awards 2012] MTV VMAs Set To Be This Year's Biggest Music Event

To prove how big and relevant the MTV VMAs will be this year, we see fans lined up along the red carpet entrance for a glimpse of their favorite stars.  Both off and on the red carpet, fans and celebrities alike are looking forward to the grand scale of this year's event.

With performances from the hottest stars of this year, including Rihanna, Pink, One Direction, Taylor Swift, and Green Day, this is perhaps one of the best music events this year.

Contributing to the large scale of the 2012 MTV VMAs are the little facts that make up its grandness.  Being held and aired live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the event is expected to attract an audience in thousands, in addition to the hundreds of stars who will be attending to present, perform or be part of the audience as guests.

To account for everything that's happening in the one of the biggest concert halls in town, MTV is said to be deploying 18 cameras to capture the action all over Staples Center.  The quality of the televised awards show is also set to go up as the broadcast network is to use a "Hydroscope crane camera" which weighs 15,000 pounds and will capture the frenzy 75 feet into the audience. So, everyone will not miss a thing, high and low resolution screens all over the set measures up to 13,000 square feet which will be strategically placed above, behind and around performers and presenters on stage.

The MTV VMA Pre-show kicked off at 7 PM local times, and is topbilled by Demi Lovato.  The actual awards show begins at 8 PM local time, on local cable channels hosting MTV.

K-Pop icon, Psy was also invited to perform at this event, and was already spotted in attendance.  He will be performing his claim-to-fame dance routine "Gangnam Style".  The large-scale of this event just proves how important this opportunity for the KPop industry.
