Ed Sheeran Releases Cover Of Foy Vance’s Song ‘Make It Rain’ For Final Season Of ‘Sons Of Anarchy’

Ed Sheeran is a busy man these days.

While the 23-year-old British singer-songwriter has been performing all over the world and assisting other artists, such as Demi Lovato, Hilary Duff, and Jessie Ware, with their projects, he has also managed to squeeze in some time to record a cover of Foy Vance's song "Make It Rain" for the hit FX show "Sons of Anarchy."

Sheeran hits a bluesy high note with his rendition of "Make It Rain," originally recorded by Northern Irish musician Foy Vance.

"I released a brand new song today on iTunes. I did a cover of ‪@foyvance for the penultimate sons of anarchy episode, I'm really proud of it," tweeted Sheeran on Tuesday.

The soulful lyrics of the song are perfectly suited to Sheeran's voice, which sounds flawlessly weathered on the track. "Make It Rain" certainly fits the tone of "Sons of Anarchy," that is just about to finish up its final season on Dec. 9th.

This is not the first time that Sheeran has been linked to Foy Vance's work. The two have toured together and Sheeran sang on Vance's 2013 album "Joy of Nothing."

In an with The Independent last year, Sheeran described how he met Vance and explained that he wished more people knew about his pal's music.

"So when I was doing a series of shows at [Dublin music venue] Whelans' in 2011 and heard Foy was there too, I grabbed him. We had whisky and drunken talk and we passed a guitar back and forth, sharing songs," said Sheeran.

"Every time I see him play I get annoyed that more people don't know about him," added the "Don't" singer. "You just need the right opportunities and I think it's going to happen now for Foy."

No doubt Vance will have a new legion of fans now that Sheeran has re-introduced his serious songwriting skills to the world.
