George R.R. Martin Mum On 2015 'Winds Of Winter' Release Date; Author Encouraged To Write By 'Star Wars Episode 7?'

George R. R. Martin was apparently inspired by the "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" trailer that it got his creative juices flowing to try to finish "Winds of Winter." But the author remains silent amid all speculations about the 2015 release date for the latest in the "A Song of Fire and Ice" saga.

The Hollywood Life talked to a source who claimed that the trailer for the "Star Wars 7" got George R. R. Martin very excited.

"He was really excited about the 'Star Wars' trailer and knows that people will feel the same way once his book is out," the source claimed."He finally looked into things as a fan and not as a writer."

The insider added that the "Star Wars 7" trailer "opened up something he has been missing lately, the wonderment of everything is making his creative juices flow again. He is determined to have the new book out and ready for 2015."

The website reached out to author George R.R. Martin's rep for comment on the said "Winds of Winter" release date news but did not receive a reply as the author is out of the country.

To this day, there's no word yet on the "Winds of Winter" release date, even as George R.R. Martin is already feeling the pressure. In an interview with Sydney Morning Herald, he said that on one hand, it's good that people are anticipating the next release.

"But at the same time, sometimes I just wish they would stop pressuring me about it. It will be done when it's done. I'm working on it. I don't know what else I can say: I'm a slow writer, I've always been a slow writer, and these are gigantic books," he said.

Previously, an article claimed that the "Winds of Winter" release date is slated for 2015, which quoted George R.R. Martin as saying in a statement:

"I'm happy to announce that Winds of Winter will be released at the conclusion of this season of Game of Thrones.

"I actually finished the book three years ago, around the same time as 'A Dance with Dragons,' but my publisher wanted to see if Game of Thrones the TV show really took off in popularity before releasing it so we could really capitalize on that."

But publisher Jane Johnson cleared the air on the rumored "Winds of Winter" release date when she wrote on her Twitter: "@foster_bt 'Not a 2015 release.' No change there as far as I'm aware."
