Kelly Rowland Shares Sweet Moment With Son Titan On Instagram After The Passing Of Her Mother

Kelly Rowland is dealing with the loss of her mother, Doris Rowland Garrison, who passed away on Tuesday from a cardiac arrest.

But in her first post on Instagram since the family tragedy, the 33-year-old singer decided to share a moment of light with her fans. Rowland posted a photo that shows her singing to her newborn son Titan.

"My only sunshine......you make me happy, when skies are grey #TITAN #LIFE," Rowland captioned the photo on Instagram.

The proud mom can be seen cradling her son as she sings to him.

Titan Jewell Weatherspoon was born to Rowland and her husband Tim Weatherspoon Nov. 4.

The sudden death of Rowland's mother came just one month after little Titan's arrival.

"It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Doris Rowland Garrison. She was an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices so that I could become the woman-and now mother-I am today," said Rowland on Wednesday. "We humbly appreciate all the love and support and only ask for privacy during this difficult time."

In a 2006 Mother's Day tribute to her mom Doris, Rowland wrote a letter that was printed in Essence magazine, which reflected on their relationship and the obstacles they faced together in life.

"I remember when you'd clap your hands and listen as I sang along every week to the theme song for the show Amen. You'd look at me like I was the sun and the moon and say, 'Sing up, baby...a little louder.' It meant so much that you believed in me," wrote Rowland. "When we had rough times in Houston, you did your best to balance our family with your job as a live-in nanny. And I know it was difficult for you to run me back and forth for rehearsals after I joined Destiny's Child. I spent a lot of nights at the Knowleses' house. Soon a month turned into a year, then years. You came by every day, though, and cooked dinner, and we'd all eat as a family. It was because of your strength and sacrifice that I was able to dream so big."
