‘Best Blogger' Zoella Back On Twitter A Day After Quitting; YouTube Sensation Gets Backlash For ‘Ghost Writing’ Her Bestselling Book 'Girl Online'

After getting criticized for apparently using a “ghost writer” for her bestselling novel “Girl Online,” Zoella, whose real name is Zoe Sugg and tagged as one of the best blogger on the web, has taken time off from the internet.

She was joined by her boyfriend, Alfie Deyes, who’s also famous for appearing in some of the online star’s vlogs, tweeting that they needed "to have some time to ourselves".

  However, the 24-year-old YouTube sensation couldn’t help but notice the attention her temporary exit has gained from the press. She immediately returned to Twitter a day after saying her temporary goodbye to millions of her followers to slam the media.

Zoe Snugg, popularly known as Zoella was named the best-selling debut author in history after selling 78,109 copies of her novel “Girl Online” – a book about a the life of a young blogger and her relationship with her American musician boyfriend – in its first week.

Her debut novel was able to outperform first-week sales of famous authors Dan Brown for Da Vinci Code, JK Rowling for Harry Potter and EL James for Fifty Shades of Grey.

However, with the success of Zoella’s novel comes rumors about it being “ghost written” to which she addressed in one of her posts on Twitter.

The “best blogger” admitted that she indeed had professional help in writing her bestselling novel, but insisted that the “story and characters” were all her idea.

Penguin – the publishing company that distributed Zoella’s debut novel – supported her claims releasing a statement saying that Sugg "worked with an expert editorial team to help her bring to life her characters and experiences in a heart-warming and compelling story".

"We are proud to be have been able to help Zoe tell her story and that the book is proving so successful in getting young people reading."
