Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey Working On 'Amazing Holiday' Despite Split; 'America's Got Talent' Host Gushes On Kids Roc And Roe

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey might have split but they are still working on giving their children, Roc and Roe, an "amazing holiday."

The "America's Got Talent" host talked with Lara Spencer on Good Morning America on Monday to promote his new children's book "Roc and Roe's Twelve Days of Christmas" and the subject touched on Nick Cannon's split with Mariah Carey.

"We'll forever be family. We're there for our children, making them the No. 1 priority and understanding they're loved and can have an amazing holiday," he said, according to E! News.

"It's always a house full of people and pets and dogs. Christmas Eve we like to have sleigh rides and reindeer," he said. "It's a lot of fun. So when you read the book, everything seems over the top, but it really happens."

Meanwhile, People said that the reason why Mariah Carey was late for the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree taping because she was talking to his lawyers on the divorce with Nick Cannon. A source told the magazine that she was on the phone for five hours.

According to the source, the divorce proceedings have become ugly and Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have been fighting over the property and the custody of the twins.

"She's trying to keep it together. She's focused on caring for her children and her upcoming five sold-out Christmas engagements in New York," the source added.

Although Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have yet to file official divorce papers, they want to work out all the details and to settle things amicably for the sake of the kids.

But in an interview with Lara Spencer, Nick Cannon avoided the Mariah Carey divorce topic and instead talked about their children: "They're 3 and a half years old. They're full of so much personality I was inspired to write this book. Each and every day with them is crazy."
