Pregnant Kate Middleton Worries NYC Spectators Because Of Her Stilettos – What Medical Experts Think

Despite the continuous sending of well wishes to the Duchess of Cambridge, pregnant Kate Middleton has elicited worry following her appearance in New York wearing a pair of stilettos.

New York Daily News reports that despite being five months pregnant, Prince William's wife wouldn't settle for flat footwear. For this reason, eyewitnesses have expressed concern since it can be dangerous for a pregnant woman to walk around wearing skyscrapers.

In the latest round of pictures, the pregnant Kate Middleton was spotted wearing skinny jeans paired with high heels. She completed her ensemble with a tweed Tory Burch coat.

"The risk of stress fractures, bursitis and capsulitis (inflamed ligaments) are increased when a pregnant woman routinely wears heels," said Dr. Isaac Tabari of the NYC Podiatry Center of Excellence to the New York Daily News. He emphasized that pregnant women shouldn't opt for heels every day.

Meanwhile, gynecologist Dr. Teri Benn tells Yahoo Parenting that nothing's wrong with wearing heels "as long as you are steady on your feet."

"During pregnancy your center of gravity is shifted, so if you feel like you are at risk of falling, which could cause an impact on the belly, I would say don't wear heels," Benn added. "But if you feel good and steady, them I'm fine with a patient wearing whatever shoes she wants."

Pregnant Kate Middleton isn't the only one who loves to pair her baby bump with heels. Other celebrities who continued to strut in heels while pregnant were Carrie Underwood, Rachel Zoe, Kourtney Kardashian, Blake Lively, and Victoria Beckham. David Beckham's other half, however, suffered from a slipped disc when she was four months pregnant because of her love for heels.
