Tom Daley Look-Alike Connor Franta Comes Out As Gay, Joins Davey Wavey, 'What The Buck,' '5 Awesome,' Tyler Oakley And Other Gay YouTube Personalities

Although there are numerous gay YouTube personalities, Connor Franta has not joined the ranks—until recently.

On December 8, 22-year-old Franta, who hosts his own YouTube channel with nearly four million subscribers, posted a "coming out" video and expressed the reason behind his decision to come out as gay.

"I just want to be able to be me and not be afraid. I'm sick of censoring myself," he said in the video. "This is just one little part of who I am, and I'm not gonna let my sexuality define or confine me. It's part of me, it's not all of me."

"I'm making this video for anyone who needs it. It's OK. It may not seem like it right now, but you are gonna be fine. I know it's scary, but don't be afraid. You are who you are, and you should love that person. I don't want anyone to have to go through 22 years of their life afraid to accept that."

So far, reactions from fans and viewers seem overwhelmingly supportive.

"I'm seriously crying right now!" commented Dudi Mariani on YouTube. "Connor, I love you so so much!! you're such a big hole model for me! I love you so much! And everything you said on this video touched my heart and it meant so much for me! I love you so much! Stay perfect."
