Mariah Carey's Emotional Performance Due To Divorce With Nick Cannon? Diva Gets Close To 'America's Got Talent' Host Lookalike

Mariah Carey's emotional performance at the Beacon Theater in New York City on Monday triggered rumors that it was due to her divorce proceedings with Nick Young. Meanwhile, the diva got close to the lookalike of the "America's Got Talent" host.

In a report from In Touch Weekly, the mother of twins broke down while singing "Hero" at the Beacon Threater.

"The 44-year-old singer appeared to be overwhelmed with passion and emotion as she tried to make it through the 1993 hit - and who can blame her with the year she and estranged husband Nick Cannon have had?" it said.

In another interview with Good Morning America, Nick Cannon confirmed the reports that he and Mariah Carey are going through divorce. But that doesn't mean that they couldn't be friends.

"We'll forever be family. At the same time, we're there for our children, making them the No. 1 priority and understanding they're loved and can have an amazing holiday," he said.

The tabloids, however, claimed that the divorce proceedings between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have gotten ugly over custody and the division of properties.

In a related report from Mirror, fans noted how Mariah Carey cuddled up during the performance with a backup dancer who "looked strikingly similar to her ex Nick Cannon."

"Surely she noticed the resemblance too?" the publication said.

But the London tabloid noted how Mariah Carey's performance was a thousand times better compared to the Rockerfeller Center tragedy.

"Swapping from her clinging white dress for the borderline racy performance, Mariah then stepped out in a glitzy red number for a heartfelt vocal - and you can see how much her voice has improved in our video below," it said.

Various reports claimed that her performance was a result of Mariah Carey spending hours with her lawyers to discuss the divorce proceedings with Nick Cannon.
