Liam Neeson Considers Converting To Islam: 'Taken' Actor Admits That Islamic Prayer 'Got Into His Spirit' While Filming In Turkey; Questions Roman Catholic Faith [PHOTO]

Liam Neeson has recently expressed interest in converting to Islam. According to the Daily Mail, the Irish "Taken" actor admitted that Islamic prayer "got into his spirit" while he was filming "Taken 2" in Turkey.

Neeson stated, "The call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it's the most beautiful, beautiful thing... There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning, and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim."

He also expressed affection for the adhan, or Islamic call to prayer, commenting, "By the 3rd week, it was like I could not live without it. It really became hypnotic and very moving for me in a very special way. Very beautiful."

Born into a devout Roman Catholic family, Neeson has always been a religious man. However, he has recently been questioning his faith, stating, "I was reared a Catholic, but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What's it all about? I'm constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism."

Back in 2010, Neeson was criticized for claiming that the role of Aslan in C.S. Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia" was not based on Christ as Lewis had claimed, but in fact all spiritual leaders including Mohammed.

However, according to Islam News Room, Neeson's publicist rejects anything about the famous actor entering Islam or being a Muslim, in spite of clear statements Neeson has said to the contrary in the past.
