'Scandal' Season 4 Spoilers: Fitz Now Finally Ready To Divorce Mellie For Olivia?

Is it finally going to happen? Will Fitz divorce Mellie to elope with Olivia? Spoilers for "Scandal" season 4 hinted of this possibility in the finale.

According to KDramaStars, the events of the past few episodes left Fitz in a bind.

During the midseason finale of "Scandal" season 4, Olivia was kidnapped by an unidentified group. While it wasn't revealed who was behind the abduction, several speculations arose. One of the more believable conspiracy theories was vice president Andrew Nichols ordering Olivia kidnapped to force Fitz's hand into declaring an all-out war against West Angola.

"With the love of his life gone, all eyes are on Fitz. Will he choose Olivia or his country? And more importantly, will he leave his wife to be with Olivia?" the report said.

Tony Goldwyn dished "Scandal" season 4 spoilers to TV Guide as he said of Olivia's disappearance: "It will potentially destroy Fitz again. How much more can a man take? This will really test him. The stakes are unbelievably high and I can say that it will be scary."

In fact, Fitz is at odds with himself. Is he willing to drag the country to war with West Angola just to save one person, even if it's the love of his life? He might even set aside his differences with Jake for Olivia's sake.

But Inquistr said that fans of "Scandal" season 4, who are on board the Fitz-Olivia train, may end up disappointed because they won't have a happy ending anytime soon.

"First of all, Fitz is still in office, and will all the drama that has surrounded his presidency such as a rigged election, an assassination attempt, his son's murder, his suicide attempt, rumors of his mistress, and his daughter's sex tape it wouldn't be wise for Fitz to bring on any more problems for himself," the site said.

Watch out for more "Scandal" season 4 spoilers ahead of the airing date on January 29 on ABC.
