Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Show Support For Their Daughter Shiloh; 8-Year-Old Kid Wants To Change Her Name To 'John'

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are both known to be HRC and LGBT equality supporters.

The couple has long been supporters of equality among people who have different gender preference.

And now, they are being really supportive of their 8-year-old kid, Shiloh, who reportedly wants to be called "John" instead of her given name.

This only goes to show that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not just supportive and loving parents to their kids but they strongly practice their belief of gender equality.

Daily Mail reported how the 39-year-old "Unbroken" director revealed her daughter's desire of being a boy and her interests in boy-like stuff.

"I don't think it's for the world to interpret anything. She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called 'John' for a while," she told the publication. "Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It's who she is. It's been a surprise to us and it's really interesting, but she's so much more than that - she's funny and sweet and pretty."

Just like Ange, her 51-year-old Hollywood superstar husband is also very much supportive and enthusiastic about Shiloh, telling Oprah how her daughter prefers to be called by a boy's name.

"She only wants to be called John. John or Peter, so it's a Peter Pan thing. So we've got to call her John," he said, adding that when he starts to call her by her given name, she corrects him.

"So you know, it's just that kind of stuff that's cute to parents, and it's probably really obnoxious to other people."

According to HRC.org, the Hollywood superstar couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, is long time supporters of the group. Pitt even donated $100,000 to HRC in 2012.

"It's unbelievable to me that people's lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days. Every person's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is enshrined in our country's Declaration of Independence, but powerful, well-funded groups are flooding the airwaves with lies trying to take away those rights from certain people... and we can't stand for it," Pitt wrote in an email addressed to the members of the group.
