LeBron James Spreads Beats By Dre Headphones Popularity,Treats Entire Ohio State Football Team To A Pair [PHOTO]

LeBron James is helping to spread Beats by Dre headphones' popularity in a big way. According to Sporting News, the Cleveland Cavaliers star helped provide every member of the Ohio State football team with the headphones on Saturday. The gift came just before Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T against the Oregon Ducks.

James' gift was definitely expensive, as each pair of headphones cashes in at $299. However, it was legal, and was not a violation of NCAA rules.

According to ESPN, a spokesperson stated, "LeBron helped facilitate the connection with Beats by Dre... The headphones were donated to Ohio State and were distributed within permissible NCAA limitations on awards," cementing the legality of the gift.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that schools are allowed to give their players gifts worth $400 for the national championship game, and the winning team can give another $415 in gifts to its players.

For those of you who may not know, James has a small stake in Beats Electronics, and made a profit of roughly $30 million in cash and stock when Apple purchased the company for $3 billion this past year. Since then, he has worked hard to promote the brand along with other brands he is currently a spokesman for, such as Nike. His endeavors have proven him to be both a loyal businessman and athlete.

James has also always been a big fan of Ohio State. ESPN reports that James has said he would have gone to Ohio State had he decided to be a student athlete. Prior to Ohio State's home game against Wisconsin in September 2013, James stated, "I promise, I say this all the time - if I had one year of college, I would have ended up here."

What do you think of James' extraordinary gift?
