'Jane The Virgin' Star Gina Rodriguez Cuts Back On Bread For Golden Globes? Actress Feels Blessed With Nomination

"Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez cut back on bread to look good for the Golden Globes as the actress counted herself lucky for being nominated alongside veteran actresses.

The 30-year-old was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy for playing Jane Villanueva, a virgin who got pregnant when the doctor artificially inseminated her.

The other nominees in the same category are: Taylor Schilling ("Orange Is the New Black"), Lena Dunham ("Girls"), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), and Julie Louis-Dreyfus ("Veep").

Gina Rodriguez said the day of the ceremony would still be an ordinary day, although she might starve herself a little to fit into her dress.

"She held back the bread because knows how tight my dress is tomorrow," Rodriguez told E! News, talking about her mother. "I was like, how are you going to even tease me, mom, with all that delicious butter? But I will be having that the second I get out of the dress."

Also, "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez joked that she tried about 7,000 dresses before choosing one that she will wore for the Golden Globes.

"But you know what's crazy? I like the second dress and it's the one we went with. After trying on all these dresses, I kept going back to this dress," she said.

Meanwhile, In Style said that experts have been predicting a win for the Golden Globe virgin but whether she wins or not, Gina Rodriguez already feels "grateful" and "blessed" for being nominated for her role in "Jane the Virgin."

"I've been working at these dreams for years, and I have had high moments and quieter moments in my life. Enjoy it, appreciate it, and be grateful throughout it all. It's not a race, it's a marathon. And of course, I have a family that keep me real grounded," Gina Rodriguez said.
