Theo James, Shailene Woodley Prove On-Screen Team Up Effective; 'Insurgent' Co-stars People's Choice Awards' Favorite Movie Duo
"Insurgent" co-stars Theo James and Shailene Woodley proved once again their on-screen chemistry after bagging the People's Choice Awards' Favorite Movie Duo for "Divergent."
The full list of winners are published on People's Choice website, which also showed that Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress and Robert Downey Jr. as the Best Actor. "Divergent" though was not nominated for the Best Movie, which include "22 Jump Street," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "Maleficent" which eventually took home the trophy.
However, "Divergent" did win the Favorite Action Movie category. Based on the YA novel from Veronica Roth, the 2014 movie catapulted Shailene Woodley to stardom, along with the surprise hit "The Fault in Our Stars."
The movie was also a huge success. With a budget of $85 million, "Divergent" went on to earn $288,747,895 worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. The sequel, "Insurgent" also stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James.
Bustle said that Shailene Woodley and Theo James winning Favorite Movie Duo didn't come off as a surprise due to their chemistry in the film.
"It most certainly doesn't hurt that Woodley is one of the hottest young actresses around right now, and including her turn as the magnificent Hazel Grace Lancaster in 'The Fault In Our Stars,' 2014 was a terrific year for her," it said.
The website also credited Theo James for holding his own as Four, the love interest to Shailene Woodley's Tris. "He's also got a million upcoming movies (OK, a million really means seven, and two of them are the last part of the 'Divergent' series, 'Allegiant' Part 1 & 2, but still), and just like Shailene, he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon," it said.
"Insurgent" co-stars Theo James and Shailene Woodley has been rumored to be dating. Both actors have denied those reports as they insisted they are just friends.
