George R.R Martin Puts To Rest Jon Snow Speculations? 'Winds Of Winter' Release Date Not Set This Year

George R. R. Martin puts to rest speculations about Jon Snow as the "Winds of Winter" release date won't allegedly happen this year.

User Honeybird posted on Reddit his thoughts when he went to Cushing Library to read the manuscript for "A Dance With Dragons" running about 1,600 pages.

One of the interesting things about the post is the fate of Benjen Stark and how he's linked to mysterious character Coldhands, which appeared in "A Storm of Swords." Rumors have pointed to Benjen Stark being resurrected as Coldhands, just like Caitlyn Stark becoming Lady Stoneheart.

When George R.R. Martin was asked if that was true, and the author just noted in red pen, "NO."

In one of the pages, the editor suggested that George R.R. Martin mentioned that Jon Snow was only a Lord Commander of the Night's Watch for a very brief period.

"Due to the gap between books, I had forgotten this happened at the end of ASOS (A Storm of Swords). In my mind, Jon's been commander for over ten years - because that is how long ago that ASOS came out," the editor wrote in green pen.

"But if you re-establish early that this is a brand-new command, all these uncertainties snap into focus again," the editor added.

George R.R. Martin seemed to have accepted the suggestion, as he noted in red pen "OK."

Meanwhile, The Outhousers reported that fans who have read the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series will find themselves in the same territory with "Game of Thrones" with the events in the HBO series overlapping with the novels.

"Within the next two years, readers will be the ones that have to watch out for spoilers from show-watchers instead of the other way around," it added, noting the lack of news surrounding the "Winds of Winter" release date.

There's also the Twitter interaction with publisher Jane Johnson who was asked by Mike Bona about the possible "Winds of Winter" release date in 2015. The publisher wrote: "@bonefish914 It's not in our 2015 publishing schedule as it stands - I know no more than that at the moment."
