Katy Perry, John Mayer Ready For Commitment? Couple Enlists Therapist To Work On Relationship

Are Katy Perry and John Mayer getting serious? The couple reportedly saw a therapist before deciding to have another go at their relationship.

According to Us Weekly, the two are "working through their issues," but they appear to be committed to each other because they "connect on a deep level."

The former couple were spotted having dinner an a friend's house then eventually returning to Katy Perry's home, and John Mayer didn't leave until the afternoon of the next day.

Katy Perry and John Mayer started dating in the summer of 2012 after the "Fireworks" singer and Russell Brand divorced following a 14-month union. The two singers finally broke up in February 2014 after rumors that they have gotten engaged.

According to various reports of their split, the two singers are strong-willed who take their careers quite seriously, and although they really feel something for each other, ultimately they had to part.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Katy Perry weighed in on her past relationships as she said, "I had to learn. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime."

But Radar Online said that Katy Perry is "ignoring all the red flags" in dating John Mayer once again.

"Although her friends have warned her to be careful, she is already ignoring all of the red flags. She is not listening to anyone and is going into this full force," the source said. "Katy is giving John another chance because she feels like there could be something there."

Following her failed relationships, the tabloid said that Katy Perry decided to seek help before dating anyone, John Mayer included.

"What I've learned is that if you don't have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away. I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime," the article quoted her as saying.
