'Speed The Plow' Actress Lindsay Lohan Gets Sick After Christmas Holiday; Mom Dina Flies To UK After Daughter Contacts Virus
News reveal that "Speed the Plow" actress Lindsay Lohan was felled by sickness after the Christmas holiday as mom Dina flew to UK after her daughter contacted the virus.
The TMZ reported that Lindsay Lohan was already released from the hospital after her fever broke. However, she's still suffering from severe joint pains.
"We're told Lindsay contracted Chikungunya, a virus transmitted by mosquito bites that causes fever, joint pain and fatigue," the news said, adding that Lindsay Lohan contacted the virus during a vacation in Bora Bora. "Lindsay began complaining of the illness just before New Year's. She then went back to London where she became so ill she couldn't walk."
"Speed the Plow" actress Lindsay Lohan's mom, Dina, flew to London to take care of her while she was in King Edward VII's hospital.
Chikungunya, according to the Centers for Disease Control, is transmitted by mosquitoes. Symptoms include fever, joint pain, headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash.
"There is a risk that the virus will be imported to new areas by infected travelers. There is no vaccine to prevent or medicine to treat chikungunya virus infection," the CDC said.
According to the news published on Daily Mail, Lindsay Lohan appeared to be in high spirits even after she knew that she contacted the virus.
She even posted on her social media accounts: "I refuse to let a virus effect my peaceful vacation (sic)." Lindsay Lohan also posted an image of herself in a bikini, which she captioned: "Before I got Chikungunya. Use big spray please. God bless."
News from Radar Online, meanwhile, said that mom Dina has asked "Speed the Plow" actress Lindsay Lohan to come home to Long Island, NY so she could take care of her.
"Dina wants her to come home to New York when she is released. She is extremely worried for Lindsay and has suggested that she come back to live with her until her symptoms get better," the article said.
