Tracy Morgan Accident Update: Family Of Comedian Killed In Car Crash, Walmart Reach Settlement

The Tracy Morgan accident updated revealed that Walmart has reached a settlement agreement with the family of James McNair, who was killed in the New Jersey car crash last year.

In a report from E! News, Walmart spokesperson Brooke Buchanan said that the retail giant regrets what happened and knows it can never bring back the 62-year-old comedian.

"We know there is nothing we can do to change what happened to Mr. McNair but Walmart and his family have worked closely together to reach an agreement," the official said. "We will continue to work to conclude all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident and we are committed to doing what is right."

According to the Tracy Morgan accident update, Daryl Zaslow, the lawyer representing the family, revealed that they are happy with the settlement amount, which was never revealed.

"They caused extensive damage to this family and more than stepped up to the plate and took care of this family. Ultimately they did the right thing by the McNairs," the lawyer said.

It's not clear, however, how the settlement agreement will impact on the lawsuit filed by Tracy Morgan against Walmart, demanding compensation for the accident.

Comedian Tina Fey earlier offered update on Tracy Morgan's condition after the accident as she's optimistic that the "30 Rock" actor will make a full recovery.

During the promotion of the "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," Tina Fey that Tracy Morgan has told her that he wants to be on the show when he gets better. "And I said, 'you got it," she said, per E! News.

"I saw Tracy. I went and visited him before the holidays. He's doing good. He's got a long road ahead of him, but he's going to get there," according to the update by Tina Fey on Tracy Morgan's condition.
