Why K-Pop Singers are Collaborating with Indie Artists

Many popular K-Pop singers are joining forces with indie artists.

On November 22, singer Lee Seung Gi released his new album. This new album features indie singer Epitone Project.

Another example of this is indie band Geeks and SISTAR member Soyu. This song was released on November 1 and ranked number 1 on the music chart on the day of its release.

Haha's fiancé, singer Byul also recently released a song featuring Kwon Jung Yeol from 10 cm and ranked number 1.

It seems that most of the singers that team up with indie artists rank number 1 on the music charts. Many believe that it is because of the combination of great visuals and great musical talent. Many predict that this will be the new way to succeed in the music industry.

A pop culture critic commented, "This is a new type of content that is created by mainstream and underground coming together. This happens because the mainstream receives a type of synergy from the underground and is able to come up with fresh and new contents."

This is also good for the underground indie artists as they are able to become more known to the public through the mainstream artist.
