Joan Rivers News: Daughter Melissa Rivers Speaks Up About Her Mom’s Exclusion From Oscars 2015 In Memoriam

Joan Rivers news reaveled that her daughter, Melissa Rivers, spoke up about her mom's exclusion from the "In Memoriam" tribute during the Oscars 2015.

According to a report from Page Six, the late comedy icon's only child admitted that it would have been nice for the "Fashion Police" host to have been recognized.

"It would have been nice, especially considering the impact she had on the awards season," the 46-year-old TV personality said through her Facebook page earlier this week.

"But (my son) Cooper and I have been overwhelmed with support and love over my mom's passing , and we choose to focus on that."

Joan Rivers news about her being notably excluded from the Oscars 2015 "In Memoriam" segment spread even before the actual event was over.

As expected, several fans and celebrities expressed their disappointment about how the notoriously frank comedienne was snubbed.

In line with the said Joan Rivers news report, a spokesperson from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences offered an explanation to Page Six.

"Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the 'In Memoriam' segment of this year's Oscar show," they admitted.

"She is, however, included in our 'In Memoriam' gallery on Oscar.com."

The comedienne and fashion critique was a staple during awards season, especially with their show "Fashion Police".

The said series is produced by Melissa Rivers, and Joan Rivers' co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne were among those who got upset about Joan Rivers missing in the Oscars 2015 "In Memoriam" tribute.

The comedy icon also appeared in several movies, such as "The Muppets Take Manhattan." Joan Rivers also wrote and directed a 1978 film entitled "Rabbit Test."

Joan Rivers died at the age of 81 last Sept. 4 after a botched throat operation at Yorkville Endoscopy placed her in a week-long coma that led to her untimely death.

As the beloved comedienne's only daughter and heir to multi-million dollar estate, Melissa Rivers has already filed a high-profile medical malpractice case against the Upper East Side medical facility.
