The latest update to the story involves a rumor that the actor was supposedly transferred to intensive care unit, following his recent plane accident that caused him to crash in a golf course in Santa Monica, California, last week. The 72-year-old was reportedly flying a World War two era plane, specifically a 1942 Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR, when he suddenly experienced engine problems and had to deliberately crash on the ground.

According to abc news, Patrick Jones, who is an investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, said that Ford experienced engine trouble almost immediately after he took off from the Santa Monica Municipal Airport last Thursday.

The actor, according to Jones, was quick to report the issue and had requested for an urgent return. The plane was reportedly en route to its return and was only at a short a distance from its runway destination when it crashed.

Also according to the source cited above, their news consultant, Colonel Stephen Ganyard, said that the actor appeared to have tried "his best to keep the airplane flying."

"It looks like he did a really good job under the circumstances," he said.
