Emma Watson 'So Angry' Over Nude Photo Leak Threat; 'Harry Potter' Star's Brother Upset With Incident

The first reaction that Emma Watson and her brother had after the nude photo leak threat was anger. Then the "Harry Potter" star decided to speak up about it.

In an interview to promote the International Women's Day and HeForShe campaign, which pushes for gender equality, Emma Watson said that she realized women's rights is still a hot-button issue when she was threatened with a nude photo leak right after her speech at the UN in September.

"There was a website set up that was threatening to release naked images of me, with like a countdown and whatever else," the former "Harry Potter" star said per People. "I knew it was a hoax. I knew the pictures didn't exist."

"A lot of people close to me knew gender equality was an issue but didn't think it was that urgent. You know, 'We live in Great Britain - this is a thing of the past. We're fine. We're good. We have got far enough,'" Emma Watson added.

"When they saw that the minute I stepped up and talked about women's rights I was immediately threatened. I mean within less than 12 hours I was receiving threats," the "Beauty and the Beast" star said.

"I think they were really shocked and one of my brothers in particular was very upset."

"Harry Potter" star Emma Watson said that the nude photo leak threat made her very mad.

"This is a real thing that's happening now, women are receiving threats. I was raging, it made me so angry, I was like, this is why I have to be doing this. If anything, if they were trying to put me off it, it did the opposite," she said per Daily Mail.

According to the British publication, the website Emma You are Next threatened to leak Emma Watson's nude photos in September last year. The website even had a countdown clock to release the alleged racy pics. And although it created an Internet firestorm, the whole thing turned out to be a dud.
