Michael Schumacher's Recovery 'Appropriate To The Severity Of The Situation; Authentic F1 Champion's Items Up For Bidding

Updates on Michael Schumacher's recovery have been very conflicting. The recent news quoted the surgeon who treated the F1 champion as nixing earlier reports that he could already recognize family and friends.

According to Christian Times, Dr. Gerard Saillant apparently denied the positive development on Michael Schumacher's recovery as reported in the news.

The F1 champ's manager, Sabine Kehm, also allegedly said the news reports were untrue. "He is making progress appropriate to the severity of the situation," she said.

Meanwhile, Melton Times reported that the Birch Wood School has placed on auction the a commemorative plaque and cap that were signed by Michael Schumacher.

"The school has been gifted a 3'x3' frame which includes four photographs, a plaque and a signed cap. It is valued at approximately £450 to £600," it said. "The funds from the sale will go towards new play equipment and library books for its recently refurbished library."

Previously, Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra, as shared by MailOnline claimed that there's a significant progress on Michael Schumacher's recovery.

"The fact Schumacher is reacting with tears to his loved ones' voices is 'valuable news', after a year of seeming 'really far away,'" the report said.

The article, written by Giorgio Terruzi, reported: "Schumi cries. And sometimes mysteriously. He cries when he hears his children, his wife's voice, his dogs. In the silence of that room, a tear runs down his thin face at a known sound."

Meanwhile, accoridng to Express Express, Michael Schumacher's road to recovery already cost the family about £10 million.

The racing champion is being monitored 24/7 by a 15-personnel team, being led by Prof. Jean-Francois Payen, who was the one who operated on the blood clots on his brain following his skiing accident in the Alps in December 2013.

A source told the publication that progress into Michael Schumacher's recovery "is painfully slow."
