Kathy Griffin Joins Co-Host Kelly Osbourne In Quitting 'Fashion Police;' Comedienne Not Using Her Brand To Bring People Down?

Kathy Griffin recently joined her former "Fashion Police" co-host Kelly Osbourne in quitting from the show, emphasizing that she's not using her brand of humor to be mean to people.

TMZ reported that the 54-year-old comedienne thinks that the show is "mean-spirited".

"I thought I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate," the 2014 Grammy Award winner for "Best Comedy Album" said in tweet.

"My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT. There's plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people's bodies into it," she added.

However, LGBT activist Kathy Griffin did not cite any specific incident, which made her decide to finally leave "Fashion Police," except about being a champion of people of color.

"I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference," Kathy Griffin said about quitting from "Fashion Police".

On the other hand, E! News confirmed the actress cum host's decision.

"We can confirm that Kathy Griffin is leaving E!'s Fashion Police," the report said.

As Kathy Griffin exits from "Fashion Police," the network wished her the best and stated that it is grateful that the comedienne-host was part of the show's seven episodes since January this year, after replacing the late Joan Rivers.

"We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all," the American TV program said.

"Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m. with our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, and executive producer Melissa Rivers," it added.

Despite quitting from "Fashion Police", Kathy Griffin expressed optimism about continuously bringing laughter to her fans and followers through a tweet.

"I wish E! and the E! team only the best and I hope to continue to make you all laugh performing live or on television where I can be smart, irreverent, unrepentant and unafraid in an observational way that is candid, honest and justified," the two-time Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Program winner for "D-List" said.

"Thank you to my fans for taking this ride with me."
