Aaron Rodgers' Girlfriend Olivia Munn Joins Julia Roberts As Honoree For Gracies Awards; Recognition For 'Inspirational' Women In Media

Olivia Munn, "Newsroom" actress and Aaron Rodgers' girlfriend, will join Julia Roberts and Maggie Gyllenhaal for the Gracies Awards, which honors "exemplary women and men in the media and entertainment industry.

According to Look to the Stars, this year's 40th Anniversary Gracies Awards is in support of the Alliance for Women In Media Foundation (AWMF) many advocacies to for the benefit of women in the media. The event will be held on May 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Apart from Aaron Rodgers' girlfriend Olivia Munn, Julia Roberts and Maggie Gyllenhaal, the foundation will also cite Cicely Tyson the Lifetime Achievement Award "for her groundbreaking work, giving a voice to women in film and television for more than 60 years."

"Though we receive hundreds of submissions from all over the country every year," said Kristen Welch, foundation chair said. "It never ceases to amaze us of all the great work that has been done to further highlight women in media. We are thrilled to honor such smart, thoughtful and inspirational individuals, organizations and programming this year."

Olivia Munn was recognized for being the Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Drama on "The Newsroom." Bursting at the scene by hosting the interactive gaming show, G4's "Attack of the Show," Aaron Rodgers' girlfriend made geeks swoon everywhere by proving that hot women could be funny and geeky at the same time.

But on "The Newsroom," where she plays Sloan Sabbith, Olivia Munn proved that she could act, too.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, Olivia Munn said that she butted heads with "Newsroom" directors previously over her vision of how her character should act.

All that changed, however, when the show's creator supported he decision.

"He was like, 'One hundred percent not. Do not. And we were always on the same page and then he would come up and back me right away," Olivia Munn said. "When you have him backing you -- that meant everything."
