'Fashion Police' News: E! Puts Show On Hiatus Following Shaky Run After Joan Rivers' Death And Hosts' Resignations

"Fashion Police" news revealed that E! Network has put the show on a hiatus. According to Variety, the decision followed the show's shaky run that came after Joan Rivers' death and some of its hosts' resignations.

"E!'s comedy series 'Fashion Police' is going on hiatus and will return in September," the station revealed in an official statement, which was released after the back-to-back departures of hosts Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin.

"We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season."

"Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of 'Fashion Police' fans around the world," the statement read.

"Fashion Police" news recently reported that Kathy Griffin has quit the show after only seven episodes.

According to Yahoo, the redhead comedienne opened up about her brief hosting stint in the hit series. The protégé of Joan Rivers joined the fashion critique show following the comedy icon's death last Sept. 4.

"I probably shouldn't have taken the gig," Kathy Griffin confessed in an interview last Monday.

"Melissa [Rivers] is the one who called me and said, 'You're the only person that I feel my mom would truly have given her blessing to.' So that was kind of the decider."

"From the jump, like even before I started, I don't know why but I've never worked on a show with so many leaks. It's a leaky boat over there," Kathy Griffin admitted.

Prior to Kathy Griffin's resignation, original "Fashion Police" host Kelly Osbourne shocked everyone after she decided to leave the show.

The daughter of rock icon Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne reportedly quit "Fashion Police" after negative news started circulating about controversial statements made by host Giuliana Rancic.

According to Hollywood Reporter, 18-year-old teen star Zendaya Coleman donned dreadlocks during the formal event, causing Giuliana Rancic to joke that she "must have smelled like patchouli oil or weed."

The comments were deemed as racist by viewers worldwide, and eventually led to the resignation of Kelly Osbourne.
