Mad Men Final Season: "Mad Men' star Jon Hamm finished treatment for alcohol addiction. The actor, who plays a boozy, skirt-chasing ad executive on the AMC series credits the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt for keeping him together.

TMZ first reported that Hamm had completed treatment as "Mad Men" gets set to premiere its final on AMC on April 5. TMZ reported that Hamm completed a 30-day stint in rehab in Connecticut at the end of February.

Jon Hamm has played Don Draper on Mad Men for eight years.

Hamm's parents divorced when he was a toddler. His mother died when he was 10 years old

"He lost his mother at a really young age and grew up without that type of figure in his life," a source told People Magazine.

"I was ... unmoored by that," he told The Observer in 2010. Hamm said father's death, when the actor was 20, left him "in bad shape," driving him to therapy and antidepressants.

"It gives you another perspective when you are so lost in your own spiral," Hamm told The Observer. "It helps."

The source told People that his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt helped "keep him in line."

"He needs [Jennifer]," the insider told People. "He has to have that in his life."

Hamm and his character Don Draper have a lot in common.

"It's a confusing juxtaposition," Westfeldt told GQ in this month's cover story. "I think the darkness of Don has weighed heavily on Jon, despite it being the role of a lifetime and the opportunity that gave him the career of his dreams."

The source told People that Hamm is "kind of guy who always remembers your name and makes small talk with the assistants."
