'Man Of Steel' Henry Cavill Channels Superman In Empire Awards Looking Dapper In Grey Suit; Gina Carano's Ex Opens Up About Wildlife Charity

"Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill looked every inch like Superman during the Empire Awards as the ex-boyfriend of Gina Carano expressed his gratitude for his wildlife charity.

The Mirror reported, "Henry Cavill, who is set to star in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is due out next year, kept his muscles under wraps at the event, which was held at Grosvenor House Hotel."

Henry Cavill looked sharp in a gray suit and he also kept his full beard trimmed for the red carpet event.

Earlier this month, Gina Carano's ex posted a message on his website Cavill Conservation after eight species was moved out of the endangered list following the direct efforts of the group.

"Obviously, I am extremely proud of my home Island of Jersey. Even more so when I learn that the spiritual home that I share with my chosen wildlife charity has made a larger impact on the natural world than even I imagined," Gina Carano's ex-boyfriend wrote.

"A recently published scientific paper* that measures the impact of conservation on the 63 species of animals that have been moved away from extinction (according to the IUCN Redlist), shows that 8 of those species - 12% - are the subject of Durrell-led conservation programmes.

"No other organisation can currently claim a higher number or percentage," the "Man of Steel" actor said.

"To celebrate, on the 28th of January we launched a suite of indicators that show, graphically, exactly the effect we can have on the world - for its animals. It's called 'the Durrell Index', and we hope it will become an 'industry standard' as it were, for conservationists to benchmark against," Henry Cavill added.

Gina Carano's ex-boyfriend was embroiled in a bit of controversy after he was rumored to be dating Marisa Gonzalo. Henry Cavill took a bit of a PR hit when it was revealed that Gonzalo was a self-confessed hunter, which ran contrary to the "Man of Steel" actor's conservation efforts.
