Pregnant Kate Middleton Opts For Longer Leave Upon 'Baby Girl's' Birth; Duchess Of Cambridge Grateful For Warm Wishes As Due Date Nears

Pregnant Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton allegedly wants a longer maternity leave now that she nears her due date so she can spend more time with her "baby girl" and prevent a repeat of what happened with Prince George.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the pregnant Kate Middleton regretted her decision to return to her royal duties just one month after giving birth to Prince George.

The insider claimed, "She felt she came back too soon last time. She wants to have that [family] and enjoy it with George and the new baby."

"Middleton pushed for more time at home, together as a family. William agreed, but there were no details on what Queen Elizabeth thought of the extended maternity leave," Celebrity Dirty Laundry said, adding that their decision has the support of Prince Charles.

As her due date nears, the tabloid also pointed out about rumors claiming the pregnant Kate Middleton will have a baby girl this time.

But E! News dismissed those rumors, claiming that Kate Middleton and Prince William will find out the sex of the baby when it comes out.

"Much to our chagrin, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do not know the sex of their second in child. In fact, they'll be finding out along with the rest of the world at the end of this month if they'll have another prince or a princess! Prince George is absolutely adorable, but we're kind of hoping he'll have a little sister to take care of!" it said.

The palace aide also told the site that Prince William and pregnant Kate Middleton are "hugely grateful for the warm wishes they have received from people throughout the U.K. and indeed around the world over the last few months."

"They know that people are excited that Prince George will soon have a little brother or sister, and it means a great deal to them that so many will be celebrating this important moment for their family," the spokesperson added.
