Ansel Elgort Looks Like Shailene Woodley's Fan Boy As 'The Fault In Our Stars' Actor Watches 2015 MTV Movie Awards On His TV Screen

Ansel Elgort has had a terrific 2014 with a string of hits in "Divergent" and "The Fault in Our Stars," which he co-stars with Shailene Woodley. And the 21-year-old actor is still reaping the rewards of his labor as the teen drama won at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards.

Shailene Woodley accepted the award, on behalf of Ansel Elgort, for Best Kiss for "The Fault in Our Stars" at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The actor couldn't be there at the ceremony but he did chronicle the whole thing in front of a large TV screen, while sharing it live on his social media.

"That means we didn't get to see some epic stage smooch between him and co-star Shailene Woodley - which could rival the generations of Best Kiss acceptance 'speeches' that have melted us to our very cores," MTV said.

MTV noted that Ansel Elgort treated fans in a unique way to share the Best Kiss award while not physically present at the Nokia Theatre.

"First of all, he timed this Twitter selfie perfectly to ensure that Shai was smiling at him on her way up to accept the prize solo," it said. "And then he listened intently while she gave her umpteenth round of thanks for the night."

Then as Shailene Woodley was walking down the steps, Ansel Elgort gave a thumbs up sign while taking a selfie and posting it on his Instagram. The "The Fault in Our Stars" actor captioned the image, "YAY WE WON BEST KISS!!!"

Ansel Elgort also tweeted an explanation why he couldn't be at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards to accept the Best Kiss plum with co-star Shailene Woodley.

"Watching the MTV movie awards from providence because I'm filming tomorrow at 6am. Wish I could be there :( Rooting for u shai!! #tfios."

After the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, Ansel Elgort once again addressed his fans via Twitter, "Goodnight, I wish I could have been there but I'm on set doing what I love. Feeling so touched and lucky."
