Gwyneth Paltrow Admits To Failing At $29 Foodstamp Diet; Actress Releases Statement!

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she failed at the $29 food stamp challenge after just four days. The "Iron Man" star had previously accepted the challenge to live on a small food budget for one whole week.

But apparently, Paltrow did not last that long. In her lifestyle blog, Goop, the 42-year-old revealed that she "broke" in the middle of her pledge. She caved in and had some chicken, fresh vegetables, and a bag of licorice.

"Dubious that I could complete the week, I donated to the Food Bank at the outset, and all of us at the goop office began the challenge," she wrote on her blog. "As I suspected, we only made it through about four days, when I personally broke and had some chicken and fresh vegetables (and in full transparency, half a bag of black licorice)."

"My perspective has been forever altered by how difficult it was to eat wholesome, nutritious food on that budget, even for just a few days - a challenge that 47 million Americans face every day, week, and year," the actress continued.

The actress has come under fire in the past for what critics have called the unrealistic lifestyle recommendations that are posted on her blog, Goop. Plenty of the food, clothing, accessories, and items that she and her team post on the blog are very expensive and for this the actress was labeled out of touch with ordinary folks.

The foodstamp diet was a challenge to the actress' notions on what it's like to eat healthy in the United States.

Paltrow is also a known advocate of a healthy, vegan diet. Recently, personal trainer Tracy Anderson revealed that the actress once told her off for eating cookies. In an interview with Health magazine, the trainer shared that she was in London eating cookies with frosting, when the "Mortdecai" actress turned to her said, "'What are you doing? Do you know how toxic that is?'"
