'Divergent' Star Ansel Elgort Preaches Acceptance For LGBT Community; Actor, Girlfriend Violetta Komyshan Go All Out PDA For Hockey Game

Ansel Elgort, who starred in "Divergent" along with Shailene Woodley, wished that everybody would be as accepting of the LGBT community. Meanwhile, the actor showed off his romantic side as he kissed girlfriend Violetta Komyshan during a hockey game.

In a report from Bustle, Ansel Elgort was interviewed by GLADD All Access during the red carpet event for "Finding Neverland" in Broadway.

The 21-year-old "Divergent" actor said that he couldn't understand why people should be faulted for being "who they want to be."

While Ansel Elgort credited that the media is more accepting now about the LGBT community, there's a flip side to the equation and that is, they are forced to be more tolerant so they, in turn, could be accepted by society as a whole.

"I almost find that now if you're not accepting, it's a big problem, and people who might not be accepting are doing it anyway, but I really hope in my heart that the world can accept, like truly and deeply from the core, so there can be a true change in the way the world is," Ansel Elgort said.

"Because there really shouldn't be - I mean, everyone's allowed to have their own opinion, but there really shouldn't be people who don't accept everyone. I think that's really stupid," the "Divergent" actor added.

While he has no problem expressing his opinion on the LGBT community, Ansel Elgort also has no problem showing PDA with girlfriend Violetta Komyshan at the recent hockey game between the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Madison Square Garden.

"But the Men, Women & Children star seemed more interested in nuzzling the NYU student as they sat together at Madison Square Garden," Daily Mail reported.

"Divergent" actor Ansel Elgort and Violetta Komyshan reunited in January this year after splitting in August.
